Hi all jackwagon cheers mucka Frank many thanks my friend, much appreciated and yes this is done in acrylics Boo There are plenty of good bases out there on the market, but sometimes you just cant get them big enough Ok ive painted the inside of the caparison and fixed them to the horse. Ill have to try to protect the horses legs now as there will be a bit of filling and sanding to do to get the rest of the caparison looking right all for now Paul

Hi all Cheers Robbo always good to hear from you Multicam thanks bud, coloured materials in medieval times were a lot different to modern ones, Dyes were very expensive especially reds and purples and colours like yellow were more yellow ochre sometimes browny beige. Added some final shading and highlights and then started on the heraldry. The first task was to decide the size. because there is just one device on the Caparison it would have been quite large so i set it to go over the centre of the quarters and then painted an outline which was then blocked in in white I then outlined the whole thing in very dark grey also adding the detail to the feathers, finally i added some shading to the whole thing with varying shades of grey It still looke a bit new so ill probably give it a wash to tone it down a bit. Only another 5 to do exactly the same All for now Paul
