Hi all jackwagon normally i do it this way, its easier to get the basic shape and then add the detail to it later So more detail added to the Sharon (Shafron), Eye protectors and a nose spike as well as a band at the top with some rivets added Ive also started the front part of the saddle, the rear part is from the kit and ive filed away all of the detail to add my own bits to it still have the front and back supports to add all for now Paul

Cheers Richard, thought you death or glory boys would like this cos it has a horse Just one more update, the straps and buckles on the neck part of the caparison are done, a real pain in the a*@e they are, each one has 5 fiddly bits and i nearly always end up with them stuck to everywhere but where i want all for now Paul

Thanks for all the comments guys Just a bit more to the Shafron, i thought it looked a bit plain so ive added a rossette to the front, although on the description from the time just states that "he charged the first tilt with flowing caparison and gleaming Shafron" it doesnt give any more than that, however these rossettes acted as arrow deflectors, similar to the besagew for a knights armour,as well as being decorative All for now Paul

Hi Richard, erm depends on what helmet i put on the knight, there is no description of the one joachim was wearing but normally an Aventail hung from a Bassinet, but who knows i havnt thought of it at the mo, might be an idea though jackwagon see i knew youd be worrying cos i hadnt put one on Paul

with just about all of the main bits done i thought id just put a few pics of what it looks like all together. I may have to make a new part to the front right caparison piece, the milliput doesnt seem to have hardened enough A few more bits of detail to do to the horse and then it will be ready for the bottom half to be painted Paul

Hi all Thanks for all the kind words guys Robbo yep theres another one to do after this one, told ya it was going to be a long slog jackwagon yeah for some reason the milliput didnt go off so it sagged So not a great deal done, ive made a new front right piece to the Caparison, ive also added a metal guard and rivets on the front edge of the saddle, and finally ive done the top edge of the Caparison around the neck, given it a few wrinkles where the Crinet would squash it down Not much more to do until i can start painting All for now Paul

I say awfully good of you chaps to comment Ok time for paint , i just had one more mod to make with the ankles, just added a bit of hair detail to them and then it was out with the paints, im going to use acrylics again, i quite like the effect they give and the really short drying time. After a coat of primer i gave it a base coat of raw sienna mixed with a bit of burnt umber. I thought id go for the bog standard chestnut. the next 2 coats were Raw sienna and burnt umber 50/50 with a touch of red, this was then ready for detailing. most of the horse that will be visible will be the legs but hopefully ive covered anything that might be seen under the caparison I started with the rear left leg, giving a another coat of the base colour and then highlighting with raw sienna gradually adding white to the top highlight, and then adding burnt umber gradually adding black for the shadows Ive also given it a white sock and highlighted the hair all for now Paul
