So everything is back in cabinet. I have a bunch of repairs to do. I think the vibration from the floor being installed made some of the builds bounce. Quite a few landing gear and doors and ordinance to re-glue. One kit the gear snapped so will have to think about that repair. Man that’s really unfortunate. What a bummer. Hopefully most of it isn’t too bad.

My 48th builds were good

Hey, this is cool. You'all have some nice set-ups! I too, am blessed with a real nice basement...unfinished. A good old-fashioned New York Basement! The main workstaion Spraybooth bench Wow mate, that's a great work space! But aren't basements meant to be haunted??? I mean, every movie that shows a basement has scary things happen down there, and we all know that Hollywood never lies.

Well, I do sometimes hear voices...but that could be caused by the bourbon and gummies! LOL

Since my house is torn apart getting new floors. I had to tear down the bench temporarily. Gives me the excuse to upgrade a few things. Was able to slide the desk to the left about 6 inches and made a small extension in the corner for my spray booth. Also made a vertical rack for the paints on the left. Hoping this gives me some more "working" room.

My 48th builds were good What the heck, did they use a jackhammer? 😀 No but they do use a rubber mallet to lock the pieces together. The new build houses around here can all withstand hurricanes but the vibrations really travel through the floors. I should have thought of that and brought my builds downstairs

I should have thought of that and brought my builds downstairs I have been laying several laminate floors myself the past two years in our house, but that I would not have expected. If one is too hard on the pieces with the rubber mallet they are more likely to break, so this transport of vibrations is surprising since they can't be very strong.

Not having a basement is the one thing I miss since moving to Florida You could have a basement. . . it would double as an indoor pool! I, somwhat, wish I had left way more of out basement unfinished. For some dumb reason, I thought a 12x20 foot room would be enough....

Hi everyone! I thought I had posted pics of my workroom and workbench but I can't find any sooooooooooooo I'll post them here and now. Might have been mixed in with model pics. photos.app.goo.gl/vzsoK6rhigZZN23P8We moved to this house about 7 years ago and I just got the room set-up like this last year. It was a WIP for 6 years. The curio cabinet is all the models that I have built in the last 30 years minus all that I have given away, all that I have built for comission or service members, those in the WWII museum in Moughton, Pa. and those scattered around the house. All the models I built from 1946 to 1968 were given away by my mother when I got my first house. When I rented a truck to pick up all my belongings and take them to the new house I found that my mother had given them away to the kids in the neighborhood. She and my dad always thought building models was a waste of time and money but put up with my 2 uncles bringing us models and supplies. In the late '60s I was into R/C planes, boats and cars but kept building models too. In the 90's I pretty much eased out of all the R/C stuff. Still have all the electronics and a couple of boats and my favorite race car #43 King Richards car. Still have my PT109 and my 50/800 racing sailboat. For those of you who like to pick out little details, there are a lot of items hanging and laying around everywhere in the room that will tell you a lot more about me and things I have been involved with. If you have any questions, just ask. Stay safe. Jim

Great looking work spaces fellas! This is my basement model room that I put together ten years ago. I probably spend more time in this room then any other room in the house lol.

That is an awesome space you have there; I really like the layout of this. 2 questions: 1) Is that a Pace spray booth? 2) What is the cabinet with the clear door just to the right of your spray booth, a drying cabinet?

Thanks for the kind words guys. I have run the range of work benches and spaces over the years. This is the nicest, most comfortable one that I've had. The first one was a gutted upright player piano that my parents had. It needed a lot of repair work and cost was out of sight so my uncles decided to take it down into the basement and gut it for my brother and I to use as a workbench. My parents didn't like the idea because they didn't want us to "Waste our time and money on models", but ok'd it because it kept us out of the way and the "Mess" was down in the basement where no one could see it. Everytime I think of my uncles, which is every time I sit at the workbench, I thank them for getting me started and encourageing me to stick with the hobby. Been lucky to have a wife that is very supportive of my hobbies (most of the time ).That is always very helpfull. This is my 7th and probably my last workroom/workbench unless I can take my stash with me to the workbench in the sky. That would be nice. Stay safe. Jim PS - I mentioned my brother and that "we" built models. Well, he did, for a couple of years, but he had a bad temper and, if something didn't go right, he picked it up and tossed it across the room. The Army changed him and he got rid of the temper but didn't go back to building models. He is a retired Army Captain, Viet Nam veteran, and the retired PAO of Lemoore Naval Air Station, and his "hobby" is driving his RV around and across this country of ours.

Some real nice hobby rooms shown here recently. Some do looks suspiciously clean, but I'll give the benefit of the doubt to the posters that these are not AI created photos

I have to confess, my room was very clean (except the bench) because, a few weeks ago, my wife had a pair of guys come in and steam clean the rugs in the whole house. That included my room. So, I had to straighten up the room and get everything off the floor so they could clean it. It won't take long to get it back to it's original ( censored) state. Stay safe. Jim

Thank God for that lol. The black cabinet is a Micro Mark dry booth, my wife got me that for Christmas a few years ago.

I like the design better with racks and a door, much better than the top loading style of most of the dehydrators I've seen.
