Very wise mate. The fit of the wheels is a relief, I got them cheap(ish) and really didn't want to waste them. I read that some batches were undersized so the tyres slipped off them, if they did, it's certainly corrected now.

Hi Dicky, these are the kit wheels, apologies for the poor pic. The aftermarket wheels don't come with tyres, you use the kit ones.

My naff picture doesn't help mate, the plating I have found is pretty decent on most of Tamiya's kits and nowhere near as overdone as say Revell. Tamiya's is laid on very thinly preserving the underlying detail, unless damaged, I tend to leave it well alone.
Hi Noname, good to have you along, progress has been slow but should speed up for the next stage.

Great to see paint details popping up on the undercarriage well Mence you'll never know it fit until you personally check it by yourself. Cheers!!!

Chaps. Chassis sorted. A very neat rear suspension assembly comprises less than fifteen parts but with careful painting looks pretty good. Front suspension is of course much simpler, wheels are steerable. Exhaust looks nice now painted and fitted with chrome tail pipes. Only two things missing, a large, black cover goes over the top of all that lovely suspension, I omitted it so you could see before it's hidden forever. The other thing is some tiny (and I mean tiny) decals go on the brake calipers, to save damage, they wil be fitted near the end of the build. Thanks all.

Sneaked in there Robbo. Yes mate, the wheels are great, picked them on on ebay from a seller in Malta for £6 which I was very happy with!

Chaps, thank you all and welcome to the new faces on this ramble. Ok, engine, what there is of it! Not much really, a handful of parts, no more needed as it's well hidden in the engine bay. All painted up but I do need to address some poor masking round the top brace mounts. Aston Martin lettering is included in the kit in the form of self adhesive foil letters about 1mm high, they are a pain to get right. The more eagle eyed may spot that there is some lettering missing, there should also be a 6.0 v12 sitting in the middle of the white cover, I messed them up big time as well as losing the 6 so I will press on with the build and try to source some more. Anyhow, pic follows.

Chaps.
Pretty much sorted Dicky, expensive for what they are but it wouldn't look right without them.
Hello, Dominiek, good to see you here. Things are going ok so far, spending tome time on the bodywork next.
Update planned for later today.

Chaps. Bodywork parts de-seamed, primed, rubbed back, primed again and finally rubbed smooth with 2000 WnD. Not much but hey, next is to drop a suitable colour on the inside then tackle the Lion Red. Cheers.
