How did you keep it on the table Prof? It's so smooth. The lines on this auto are just outstanding.

Very kind chaps, thank you.
Update as soon as the camera has charged but be warned, Lion Red is, err.. Brown!
It's a sort of brick red with a fine gold fleck in it but you need to view it in bright natural light to get the full effect, something that the UK in Autumn is seriously lacking!
Back later...

Chaps. Sorry for the delay, other things got in the way as usual. Quick update. Colour coat on. Followed by the BMF and clear coat. That's it, told you it was quick!

Thanks guys, I'm kinda warming to it too. Even though it's an official Aston Martin colour, bet you don't see many painted in it!

Ohhhh... Shiny red... What a nice color I will never get another red car in my life, but I still like it when it's so shiny

Thanks Luigi, it's a sort of red, more brown really. I can assure you it looks much better in bright natural light.

Hi Mence,
Really nice job on the paint work mate. The clear coat looks very smooth, it doesn't look like it will need much polishing. I'm not sure if I would order a DBS in that colour though.
Looking forward to the next update.
Best Regards
Keith.

Hey chaps, cheers. I think it's fair to say it's an acquired taste and to be honest, not what I planned. I now have a jar full of paint I will probably never use if anyone is interested? Made a little progress this evening so will probably post an update Saturday. Need to get a crack on as Tamiya have now given an official release date for the new 1/6 Harley, 30th November.

Chaps
Robbo, thanks buddy, as I said before it does look better in good light, ever so slightly metallic which helps!
Steve, cheers matey, as for dust, well, if you build shiny things tis a problem. You can minimise the issue though.
1. Always clean your spraying area best you can, a damp cloth picks up most specs of dust, loose overspray etc.
2. Have a clean tack cloth handy, you can get these from online model shops or auto stores like Halfords, wipe it over you moggle just before spraying, all the crud sticks to it but it doesn't harm the the part or leave a residue on what you are spraying.
3. After laying on your paint and especially clear coat, place the painted part in a large, clean plastic box with a lid, big sandwich boxes you can pick up from a general store like Wilkinsons for a couple of quid are great, leave it there until the coat is properly cured, after that, any tiny specs you may have overlooked can be swiftly sorted with Micromesh or similar.
Back later.
