Very, very nice.
To allay your fears, I have seen a DBS and a Vantage in this color.

Chaps. Wetsellery, Boo, AgentG, thank you and my apologies for not responding sooner, been spending too much time modeling and not enough on the things that really matter. To show willing, couple of pics follow of the body. Screen, masked, painted and fitted, trim added to the bodywork, wipers installed, underbonnet areas detail painted, lights fitted and the various PE grills that adorn the bonnet and front of the bodywork have found a home too. Emblems are AM items not kit decals, they are applied just like decals but are made of foil so the end result (not obvious from these pics) is far more convincing. Thanks chaps.

Chaps, thank you for the positives.
Dicky, the window surrounds are BMFd, pondered using the masking and paint method but I'm far more proficient with BMF than with an AB.
Clears are held in with one of two things, on some clear parts, Tamiya have kindly given you a largish 'tab' to attach it to the bodywork, where that is the case, a tiny drop of Cyano is used, where the attachment point is much finer, I use Rocket 560 Canopy Glue as kindly provided by our very own CeeBee.
Back with an update when life allows...

Cheers buddy, getting there slowly.
Interior is going to be a camel sort of colour which should suit the exterior colour fairly well.

Chaps. As always, huge thanks to you all. Pretty grim update. Replacement foil decals arrived enabling me to finish the lettering on the engine. That's it, hopefully the next update will have a bit more to it.

This has been coming along VERY nicely. I'm not sure I know of anyone yet who hasn't had some issue with those metal transfer stickers on the engine cover. I would have been nice if they had at least offered a set of lettering on the decal sheet. The potential disaster of those tiny letters is what's kept mine on the shelf the past couple of years.

Thanks James. Yep, the problem I found was the adhesive on the clear top sheet was stronger than the adhesive on the foil letters meaning you couldn't get them to stick to the kit part without some coaxing from a blade / toothpick to get them away from the top sheet. This usually ends up with them being applied in a less than straight fashion or worse still (as happened with me), the letter 'boinged' off somewhere, never to be seen again. As you know, these letters are at most 1.5mm high so keeping a track of them is tricky to say the least! Let's just say I'm happy that task is behind me!

Hi Mence,
Nice job with the metal transfers on the engine. The Porsche carrera GT had these metal decals also. I found that it was best to cut out the decal, remove the backing paper and position it with the clear top sheet, then burnish the decals down with a pencil before removing the top sheet, this seemed to help release the decal from the top sheet.
I'm looking forward to seeing this come together mate, I'm quite tempted with this kit myself as I really like the shape of the DBS. I saw one the other day in lion red, and I have to say it looked very nice in the sunlight, so I have to apologise for my earlier comments about the colour.
Looking forward to more.
Best Regards
Keith.

Chaps.
Mac, welcome aboard and thank you for your kind words.
Luigi, thanks mate, you don't really get a whole engine in the kit, just the top portion but I guess with the white paint and decals it stands out pretty nicely.
Keith, hi buddy and thank you. I tried a new technique this time which involved holding a warm cloth on the clear backing for a few moments before trying to release it, that worked by softening the adhesive enough to remove the backing without too many more traumas. The kit is a nice one and like most of Tamiya's recent 1/24 releases (I don't include re releases in that), it's beautifully engineered. The Aftermarket boys are there if you need the extra detail too. As for that apology, thank you but totally unnecessary, we all have personal preferences when it comes to motor vehicles, I should know, I ride a cream BMW for heavens sake! The reason was purely and simply to be different, you see so many modelled in black, silver and almond green that I just wanted to be a bit 'out there', at least it's an Aston Martin colour.

Mence, Now all I have to do is open the bonnet to see what kind of car it is. Stellar effort with great results. It WAS worth the wait.

Chaps.
Dicky, thanks fella. To be honest it's still not as good as I wanted it to be but with a spare set of foil decs a rather hefty £4.99 plus post from The Hobby Co, I'm leaving it there.
As for the 'cream machine', I don't regret buying her because she's in such great condition compared to a fair few out there and I like the cream colour scheme too but I do wish I had got a full blown independant, the two tone colours are so retro! Talking to the Beemer boys I get parts from, they reckon if you have a two tone tangerine / graphite one, you're sitting on a potential gold mine.
Hey Jeff, hi buddy, thank you. Despite the relatively high costs of replacements, I think it's something you have to do, it's such a prominent feature. Although not perfect, they're on there, look nice and once framed by the bodywork should look pretty neat.
Finally, interior is underway, I'm not going to go overboard on it as it's pretty tough to get a good look at it due to the low roofline. All being well, may have a small update later today.

Chaps. Hi T, thank you for dropping by and the kind words, sorry it's not rusty. Right, many hours spent painting and masking has resulted in a complete interior. Basic colour is Tamiya XF-59 Desert Yellow (had to try and get rid of the Military colours somehow) coated with semi gloss clear which gives it a fairly convincing leather type appearance. Decals are a combination of kit ones and Aftermarket foil ones. Follows is a pic, not a brilliant one but far more than you will see once the body is on! Thanks.

Thanks buddy!
Most of the fally offy bits now attached. Unfortunately I won't have a chance to post till Friday when you can see the done deal.
After weighing up the pros and cons, I have decided to go with the kit wheel rims as they are a bit more in keeping with the car plus they are a bit brighter which I think it needs considering the body colour.
