Wow wow wow!! Winnie is looking exactly how he should do!! I like the subtle highlights and shadows you have achieved and the look of "elderly" eyes is top notch mate! Might be time for me to scale up a little and try a bust out myself one of these days Keep up the good work mate and get that cigar in between his chops! Cheers, Shay

I´ll second what Shay wrote, this Bust makes me want to paint or sculpt a Bust, too! There are many possibilities; i am not so the Bust fan, but heck, what I see here wets the appetite!

Nicusi, thanks ! For the flesh tones I mixed zinc white, yellow ocre, flesh ocre, burnt sienna and a bit of ultramarine blue. I use the tones of my own hand as a guide for the skin tones. Can you believe it, I brush paint on my own hand !!! It doesn't hurt, luckily ! Generally I use more ultramarine blue in the shadowed flesh tones.
Frank, this is my second bust project, I'm more into rusty armor. This is something different and a challenge too. I'd say, purchase a nice one too and paint along with us !
Shay fella, with your figure painting skills you are the man for a 1/9 scale bust project ! For the old skin effect and the elderly eyes I simply have to take a look in the mirror (damn I hate that mirror !).
Desertrat, thanks mate !
Andy man I hope it looks better by the update. It's up to you to decide, I'm glad you like it so far. I like to use very thin paint, because it's transparent and it adds depth in the flesh.

Yeah, I will paint a Bust, definitly. And when I have to sculpt it sometimes... I had the idea of a Predalien Bust in 1:6 scale some time back, would be an interesting subject. When I find the time to sculpt it. Till then, maybe a Young Bust could do it, they have some fantastic WWII busts... Maybe Shay et moi could do a duell in this theme somehow.

Thanks Luigi ! I'm glad you like this one. That would be awesome Frank ! In February I will start a duell bust painting project with TRM and Deafpanzer. I applied more highlights and shadows. Eyes were finished with a lick of gloss. A lot more to do, we keep rolling Winston ! Best regards ! AG.

Guy, looks better and better! Watching your next steps, definitely one of my favorite topics. Some duel bust painting, ha? Still accepting partners? But I don't have in my stash another 1:10 busts, only smaller, 1:12.

Armorguy, cool idea! I could look if it fits and click me in. Or we manage several builds, should be fun! Btw, if I haven´t mentioned it, your flesh colours are AMAZING! I must try the mixture you have made myself, looks extremely well!!

Thanks guys ! If there's one ideal bust for a beginning figure painter, it must be this one. With still some brush fiddling to do, Winnie couldn't resist a smoke any longer... Best regards ! AG.

Armorguy, this is truely outstanding and absolute realistic. What I love beside those skintones is the cigar, man, you nailed it in a way beyond belief. Looks like a real person in scale 1:1. I am jealous so to say, top top work!!!

It's a little freaky, actually. It's like a living person.....decapitated. Please tell me he will be reunited with his body some time soon.
