Wise choice, that tiny corner would have driven you crazy chasing that with more decal. It hides quite well and only gets noticed as you pointed it out. Keep the good stuff coming.

Painted some details. Not going to do too much. Definitley want to add some to the dash. Almost there!

I honestly thought I was going to get this finished this weekend.. but the warm weather has my son desperate to be outside doing something 24/7 and I'm not one to tell him no to a request like that. Add in an electrical issue plaguing my kitchen meant I only got a few spare hours at the desk.

This is what I was able to get done.

Started adding CF decals to the rear wing. This is the bottom as you can tell from the mounting holes.



I was looking at reference photos for the dash and while I got what I needed I also noticed there is a a missing display from the kit that came on the racecar. I was going make one, but I'm deciding that the street car version doesn't need it. So we are sticking with the digital display/tach and the steering wheel and dash controls

That dash looks terrific and is going to set the whole interior off well James. Indeed it does look like you're getting the whole CF decaling process down rather well. Getting closer to the finish line all the time.

Fooling around with the interior. Relocated battery because we needed a passenger seat in our " modified for the street" C7.R found as many interior shots as I could of the actual car and added some wiring to dress it up a bit.

We are supposed to get some more rain here, and its cooled off at night again. In a few days when the warm weather returns hopefully I will be able to clear the body. While we wait, I should be able to finish the small details and then we can call this one complete.

So we were ready for clear today. Several people have mentioned Testers wet look clear was really good. Decant, then airbrush. So I drove all over the damn city looking for it but everyone who had it for sale has the wrong stuff. They show this on their website:



But when you get there, what they actually have is this...



And the reviews online for that stuff are not good. Terrible actually. So... I stuck with the Mr Hobby Gloss Premium Topcoat I had. Warmed up some water to thin it it out and gave it a good shake. Applied the first coat and was instantly horrified by the results. It came on SO THICK it was almost white. I panicked. Decided I should decant and thin it out and try again. SO I try to decant it and all I get is bubbles! Bubbles everywhere. So I go back to the can direct method. pull further back and get better results. I was going to do two coats but I think I may just leave it as is and skip the wet sanding and just Tamiya polish and be done. OMG... what an ordeal haha.

Well, it may not be as good as the one shot stuff, but I’ve used the extreme lacquer wet look before and had good results with it too. But it comes out scarily heavy too. I really like the Mr hobby stuff better anyways. Great result there after your initial scare!

Good to hear its a common thing. Ill be more prepared next time. So far, the Mr Hobby stuff looks fantastic. Ill get better pics up soon. Need to DIY some kind of light box or something. The garage is terrible for quality photos haha.

Thank you! Yea, I would say it was just user error and a bit of panic. The stuff settles nice and has a great look to it. I cant complain one bit!
