I have always loved the Corvettes running at Le Mans and I think the C7.R is the sexiest and meanest looking of them all. Excited for the GB, aprehensive about Revell haha. ALl my Revell kits are from 20 years ago, so the quality is, well.. Revell. At First glance this kit looks pretty good. But a closer look reveals typical Revell BS. I really like that they prepainted the window! I do not like the one piece LCA and brake rotor/caliper Typical mold lines, actually these were better than expected First step will be to get the body parts attatched and in the whole body in primer to look for any other issues. Things I should have figured out while we all waited for this GB to start: - Street or Race version ( I keep going back and forth) - If Street, what color? Should be a fun week!

Looking forward to this build. I have one of these in the stash, but it looks a little intimidating. I've seen it built both street and race and you can't go wrong either way. Such an aggressive looking car!

I built the Revell Germany version of this kit as a race car. Would love to see it as a street car. 8^)

If taking votes I will throw in with street. Not enough street versions of kits ever get made for my tastes. Not as glamorous I guess but this would be great either way.

Pulling up a stool to watch this one. As a kid I built the C5R and remember enjoying it. I think it’s in pieces around here somewhere. Looking forward to seeing what you decide on this one

It's such a bad-a$$ looking race car - I went race. I also have this kit in the stash - following.

Well, it looks like the Street version has won. So I will hopefully decide on paint scheme today and get something ordered.

I think if I were doing the standard car with a full interior the green would be a top 3 choice for sure. But I think as most of the interior will be black or some form of metal, The blue is a better contrast for it. I was thinking of doing something a bit more on the vibrant side.. kind of like what Porsche did with he GT3RS they did those bright orange, green and blue colors.. Ill figure it out!

So even though I should be working... I forced myself to put in some time to decide on a color. Went to my LHS with 3 colors in mind and was going to buy whatever they had starting from my top choice to 3rd choice. They had my top choice which was :drum roll: Tamiya LP-45 Racing Blue For those that care 2nd choice was Tamiya TS-31 Bright Orange and third was going to be Black along with everything else in the car.

Got a late start on this tonight. Couldnt help but open up the T1 Bus for the BSGB. Got the parts all washed and drying. Wanted to remove this gap on the hood so I will let that dry over night and do a 2nd coat tomorrow then sand and get it in primer.

I like the color choice! Of course red Vette's are my favorite for obvious reasons, my 71 is Mille Miglia red

Great color choice. It'll definitely give it a race car vibe without going for the box art car. Should look really sharp.

Got the body in primer Looking for anything that needs to be worked more. Ill let it cure and give it a sanding if it needs it. It looks like it went down well. Started engine assembly and even got some color! Small steps!

Looks like an autocad drawing it is so smooth and perfect. Yea I love this primer, it is the Alclad II Grey Primer 302 Sprayed at 12-14 psi did light coats until covered. I also sanded the body at 600 and 1000 and used a scribe to touch up the panel lines. Then washed in warm soapy water and let it air dry.

Yea I have been switching back and forth between the Alclad and Mr Finishing Surfacer 1500. Im not sure which one I like more, but both are good options. I may have found my answer after this kit because it feels as smooth as it looks. I would like to add though, I made some significant changes to the spray booth which is making a huge difference. Great news all around.
