Man, that was easily the most difficult task I have ever had to complete building a model. It didnt turn out great, but Ill say its good enough for me. I learned a lot actually. Now all I need to do is copy this... LOL

James, Outstanding job on the installation of the fuel lines. A few strips of 1mm Tamiya tape will go a long way to coming close to pic #2.

I was trying to use that last night to imitate the straps. It wasnt sticking. Its also hard haha I do not have steady hands. I may try black electrical tape. I have pics of 3 different colors of things used to strap these down so I guess there isnt really a wrong answer here.

James, great job on this, it is looking awesome. I just started this kit, was contemplating using 8lb test fishing line for the fuel lines. are you gonna wire the ignition? I am not there yet though i just ordered paint. i think i finally got the mold line under the mirror mount.

I do some other lines to run. We will see. I do not know what the correct fuel line size is. I am hoping its somewhere near 1/4 inch because I'm using .30 mm line. which is just a tad smaller in scale than 1/4

Some really good detail work going on in here James. The detail that's on the engine is just superb and it looks like it dropped into the car with no issues at all.

Surprisingly enough, I have been having fitment issues which is rare for Tamiya. But yes, the engine dropped right in with 0 issues. It was a nice change.

about to hit the last lap on this one. I'm calling it. I'm pretty happy with it, but at the same time disappointed. I let ambition get the better of me again. I really need to build without trying to add any extras. I jsut need the bench time and practice. Just some touch up painting on a few pieces. But she's on all fours. Just needs her glass. The resin parts, while way better looking caused so much frustration. Every time you try to attach, something falls off or breaks. The parts are so small and delicate, just having the CA applied weakens them and mounting points fall apart. I wanted to add more wiring and really dress up the engine but I'm just not good enough yet. She will still look real nice sittin in my cabinet.

Resin can be tricky and frustrating to work with but I think your efforts crafting this turned out great! Sometimes builds can end up not looking like what we had in our minds eye but I see nothing here to hang your head over, it's really a terrific looking build!

James, It's been quite an adventure as I followed your simply outstanding build. The amount of detail tubing and wiring you added is amazing considering this is 1/20 scale, not 1/12 scale.
Like you, I use to plan out all sorts of added details to builds that I'm starting, and the vast majority of them were disappointing just for the reason that my plans far exceeded my skills. I've come to realize at least for me it's the overall presentation that's important.
If you're into contests from local club to IPMS regional and nationals, it's somewhat different, but there it's still perfect 100% basics before any AM details were added, and they had to be perfect as well.
I'm at the age now where I just try to enjoy the build without driving myself crazy, which unfortunately I still do. Must be in my DNA.

Very nice of you to say Brent, thank you! Im for sure not sad about it. I think more frustrated haha. Every time I touch something, something else falls apart haha. Need to work on being more delicate I guess. James, It's been quite an adventure as I followed your simply outstanding build. You know, the ironic thing is I totally know that. I used to host the contests at the HobbyTown USA I managed many years ago. As a judge I always graded the basics first. AM was extra. Exactly how you said it. I guess that all goes out the window when its your own build LOL.

I look at some photo etch sheets and I wonder, does it really add anything to the end product? Some stuff is an obvious upgrade, some of it is just "photo etch for the sake of photo etch". I think adding detail falls in the same category, some is a big plus, some really doesn't do much. Then again, I don't enter model shows or contests, I just build and experiment and if I like the end result, I'm happy. I'm happy about 10% of the time, lol.
Very nice end result, and it's way better than the one I built!!

Paul, You're certainly your worst critic at a 10% approval rate. I've been following your work for years and I can't really recall any build that didn't hit it's mark.
