Hi folks, after such a long time, I am back with some new projects. Here comes the first one, a M47 Patton. I was inspired by edi and his "Forgotten Beast". I thought a long time how to build the fenders of the tank by myself. Edi used aluminium and I tried the same. But I wasn`t so happy with this. So I bought some brass sheets (o,12mm) and tried it in this way. I don`t want to glue all these parts. I want to solden it. I have seen the DVD of Adam Wilder, how to use pe parts. This was very helpful for me. So the first step of the M47 are the fenders... 5DMKII_20686 von mad_airbrush auf Flickr 5DMKII_20689 von mad_airbrush auf Flickr 5DMKII_20695 von mad_airbrush auf Flickr 5DMKII_20696 von mad_airbrush auf Flickr 5DMKII_20698 von mad_airbrush auf Flickr 5DMKII_20702 von mad_airbrush auf Flickr One of those hinges has a size of 2,5mm. F*** tiny, isn`t it? I have made them all by myself, no pe parts!! The problem is, there are not many good pe parts for this kit, so I have to make all these parts out of brass sheets...

Thanks Dicky, it`s nice to be back for some tank modelling and rusting. Btw another project in the near future will be a 1951 VW beetle scale 1:16. That`s the first time, I use brass or pe parts. So the start was a bit hard for me. But now finally I have got the hang of it. Especially how to solden these materials...

Thank you all for your great comments. Today I have made some details, like the engine. The problem is, I can`t find very good pictures of the engine inside the tank. I have only a few pictures of the single engine, that`s all. So I tried to give it a more 'natural look' with some hoses and wires... Maybe someone of you have some good pictures of an engine inside of a patton? 5DMKII_20808 von mad_airbrush auf Flickr 5DMKII_20809 von mad_airbrush auf Flickr 5DMKII_20810 von mad_airbrush auf Flickr

So here comes the last update for tonight. (after this I go to bed ) I painted the engine. At the moment it looks more or less 'new'. The next step will be weathering and rusting of the engine and the interior of the tank. 5DMKII_20813 von mad_airbrush auf Flickr 5DMKII_20814 von mad_airbrush auf Flickr

Have to say that's the most creative use of bendy-straws I've seen on a model! They are perfect! Looking forward to more as you weather the engine bay and components.
